If "President" Obama wants to run for re-election he would need to produce proof of both his U.S. birth and citizenship to get on the ballot in Arizona, if State Rep. Judy Burges gets her way. She is preparing a law to require anyone running for president or vice president to provide proof to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office that they are Constitutionally eligible to seek the office. The Constitution provides that no one can run for president unless a natural born citizen. But it fails to specify how that certification would be made. The founders probably assumed Congress would handle that. This time, it didn't, so Rep. Burges proposes to resolve that matter. Under her proposed law, if Obama fails to gain certification in Arizona, his name would not appear on the Arizona ballots, which would surely cost him possible election. Obviously, someone needs to check this requirement. Right now we have a man who purports to be president whose citizenship, whose loyalty, are in doubt. There is no reason this country should have to bear this burden. Despite all requests, Obama has refused to provide or release the necessary records, only throwing more doubt on his credibility.
Maybe there's nothing we can do about it for now. But there is something we can do about it for the future. Good on Judy Burges for proposing that law.

Judy Burges should be appointed Arizona House majority leader and Andy Tobin should be sent home.
She cannot propose a law. She can, however, propose a BILL. Laws are not passed, BILLS are.
