Europe elected a president this week. There was considerably less hoopla than in an American election. In fact, there was none. The president was actually elected by the 27 member heads of state of the members of the European Union. Just for the record since you surely don't know who he is, the new president of Europe is Herman van Rompuy, the Belgian prime minister.(extreme right of picture) As the foreign-affairs chief they selected Britain's Baroness Cathy Ashton. The Daily Express talked to Rompuy's sister who also is in politics. She described her brother as "a clown".Nov 21, 2009
